Although the ISM services index was essentially unchanged in August, that is still something of a relief following the weak ISM manufacturing report earlier this week and the gloomy tone of the Fed's Beige Book, released yesterday. Our weighted average ISM index remains consistent with mildly negative GDP growth, but that has been the case for some time without the economy cracking.
