We expect sterling to weaken by ~4% against the euro and ~1% against the dollar by end-2025. This reflects our view that the Bank of England will loosen monetary policy by more than what investors are anticipating, GBP’s high valuation and stretched speculative positioning. That said, a further escalation in the conflict in the Middle East and a Trump victory would put more pressure on the pound than we currently expect.
