Materials and labour shortages are weighing on construction activity and, although those headwinds may ease over the rest of the year, tighter monetary policy is likely to cause activity to fall. The latest surveys are consistent with the sector reducing euro-zone GDP by around 0.25% in Q3, and worse could follow.
