Although the annual rates of CPI-median and CPI-trim edged up in October, the 3-month annualised rates that the Bank of Canada is now focussed on declined. As that for CPI-median is now in the 1% to 3% inflation target range, it seems likely that the Bank will drop down to a 25 bp policy rate hike next month.
