Could Vietnam find itself in Trump’s crosshairs?

Vietnam could take a number of measures to reduce its huge bilateral trade surplus with the US, notably stepping up its purchases of US farm products and clamping down on transshipments from China. But even if these were successful, they would still leave Vietnam with a bigger trade surplus (as a share of its GDP) than any other major trading partner of the US. This would make Vietnam a potential target if Donald Trump decided to target countries with the largest trade imbalances with the US.
