Nigeria: modest growth pick-up on the cards

The policy shift underway in Nigeria has kept economic growth subdued – something that continued in Q2 according to the latest PMI and confidence data. Tight monetary policy will still remain a constraint on the economy. But with inflation soon set to fall and the government running a loose fiscal stance, we think the conditions are in place for a modest acceleration in growth in the near-term.
