Election going down to the wire

Regardless of who wins the Presidential election, the chances of the victor having a compliant Congress appear to be fading fast. So even if Romney won, the most likely scenario is still that a deal is struck to avert the fiscal cliff. And if the Senate were to remain under Democratic control, the new President would struggle to push through all aspects of his economic plan.
