While the UK banks look likely to receive a relatively clean bill of health in the stress tests, tha is unlikely to have much of an impact on the outlook for the economy. After all, while recent weeks have seen some signs of renewed concerns over the banking sector, they are nowhere as acute as those in some parts of the euro-zone.
