Deal may not mean deal

While the opinion polls are increasingly suggesting that the Conservatives will win a big enough majority in the election to pass a Brexit deal by 31st January, the Prime Minister’s plan to defy all expectations and agree a new trading arrangement with the EU by the end of December 2020 will worry businesses. If he falls short, there could be something like a no deal on 31st December 2020. The mere risk of that could mean that even after a deal, Brexit uncertainty will continue to restrain investment. So deal may not mean deal.
