The unanimous decision by the MPC to leave interest rates and its asset purchases on hold in November did not come as a surprise given the continued run of upbeat news on the health of the economy. And while the MPC will be watching closely for any second-round effects of the expected pick-up in inflation, for now at least it appears to be content with an overshoot of the 2% target.
