How far and how fast will inflation and interest rates rise?

The tumble in inflation from the most recent peak of just over 5% in late-2011 to an average of 0% in 2015 has provided a welcome boost to the economy. But with near-zero rates of inflation now in the rear-view mirror, this favourable tailwind will not last much longer. Even so, we expect inflation to rise only gradually, so it does not look like interest rates are going anywhere fast.
