Political developments in Tunisia and Lebanon this week have raised hopes that policymakers can tackle their respective economic problems, but there remain plenty of reasons for caution. Elsewhere, the arrest of two prominent members of the Saudi royal family this week on corruption charges could be a sign that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is trying to tighten his grip on power. The experience of the 2017 anti-corruption purge is that this could undermine renewed efforts to increase foreign investment in the Kingdom.
