Central Bank of Egypt to hold off from rate cuts until Q3

After a surprise rate cut last month, the Egyptian central bank left interest rates unchanged today. Looking ahead, we think that policymakers will hold off from lowering rates again until the direct impact of last year’s energy price hikes falls out of the inflation numbers in Q3.
