Mexico edges towards energy reform

Confirmation that Mexico’s governing PRI party will support reforms to open up the state-owned oil company Pemex has cleared a major obstacle to private sector investment in the energy industry. Progress may still be slow, but higher oil production could eventually add 0.8%-pts to GDP growth.
