Our previous analysis, suggesting that Brazilian and Argentine equities would be most vulnerable to a general spike in risk aversion, has been borne out in the recent sell-off. Mexican markets, on the other hand, have been a touch more resilient than we had expected. Looking ahead, the risks to the region’s stock markets still appear to be stacked to the downside.
