Hungary’s easing cycle slowing down

The fact that the Hungarian central bank cut interest rates by just 20bp today highlights that, even though the forint came through the recent EM sell-off relatively well, Hungary is still highly exposed to any slowdown in capital inflows. We expect a modest 30bp of further interest rate cuts this year, to 3.50%.
