The Czech central bank followed up last week’s emergency interest rate cut with further easing today and opened the door to use other measures to support the economy and stabilise the financial system. With the economic damage from the coronavirus mounting, we expect these measures – which are likely to include sovereign bond purchases – to be used before long.
