Russia CPI (Jul.)

Russian inflation picked up in July for the first time since March, but this was driven entirely by last month’s hikes in household utility tariffs. In contrast, core price pressures eased. Inflation should fall back early next year as the effects of the ruble crisis start to unwind, but the recent sharp fall in the currency means that there is a risk that it doesn’t fall as quickly as we currently forecast.
