What to expect in Asia in 2015

In this Weekly we outline our key calls for the region in 2015. We expect Emerging Asia to be a bright spot in the global economy, with growth set to accelerate in most economies. Falling commodity prices should put downward pressure on inflation, which will allow central banks to keep monetary policy loose. Finally, even though monetary tightening by the US Fed could trigger more volatility in the region’s financial markets, we expect most Asian currencies to appreciate against the US dollar in 2015.
