Vietnam cuts rates again, more policy loosening likely

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) today announced that it would be cutting interest rates by a further 100bp on Wednesday. The cut in interest rates, the second in as many months, comes amid recent falls in inflation and a sharp slowdown in economic growth in the first quarter. With inflation set to ease further over the course of 2012, further rate cuts are likely.
