New Zealand to leave first rate hike until mid-2014

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) kept its policy rate unchanged at 2.5% today. There is little immediate pressure on the central bank to hike rates, but accelerating economic growth and inflation will make an increase more likely toward the middle of next year.
