The Bank of Korea’s (BoK) decision to leave interest rates on hold at 1.50% today came as no great surprise given the recent deterioration in the labour market. Looking ahead, with headwinds to growth mounting and inflationary pressures likely to remain subdued, we are taking out the 25bp rate hike we originally had pencilled in for later this year.
