While headline inflation fell below the Bank of Canada's 1% to 3% target range in April , the ongoing impact of the weaker loonie meant that core inflation rate was still as high as 2.3%. The impact of the currency depreciation will eventually fade, however, which suggests that an inflation undershoot is still the Bank of Canada's primary concern.
