One recent data release showed that mining investment in Australia is still plunging while another suggested it has started to rebound. Both are technically right, as it all depends on how you measure investment. The broader point, though, is that mining investment probably hasn’t found a floor yet. But at least it is now falling at a slower rate and there are some signs that non-mining firms are planning to invest more.
