The RBA is stuck in neutral

The Reserve Bank of Australia has now left interest rates at 1.5% for 13 months and we suspect the combination of subdued GDP growth, low inflation and a growing focus on financial stability will mean it keeps rates there for another two years yet. Our forecast implies that the financial markets will eventually have to adjust their view that rates will start to rise late next year.
