Capital outflows from Nigeria could become a risk

A sizeable current account surplus means that capital outflows from Nigeria are not a cause for concern at the moment. However, a sustained fall in oil prices, as well as the appointment of a more dovish Central Bank Governor next year, are two key risks that would leave Nigeria’s overall balance of payments position looking more fragile.
