The 0.2% q/q expansion in Mexico’s GDP means that the economy dodged a technical recession last quarter. But growth was driven by a rebound in agriculture and the rest of the economy – and the manufacturing sector in particular – continued to struggle. This should pave the way for another 50bp rate cut at Banxico’s meeting next month.
