Euro-zone Retail Sales (Nov. 24)

The 0.1% m/m increase in euro-zone retail sales in November was a little worse than expected  and follows a fall in sales of 0.3% in October. This suggests that aggregate retail sales may have declined in the final quarter of last year and underlines that the recovery following the pandemic has been disappointing. Indeed, total sales remain well below their November 2021 peak and their pre-pandemic trend.
