EM manufacturing ends the year on a soft note

The emerging markets manufacturing PMIs for December were a mixed bag. The headline index stagnated at the aggregate EM level and remained below 50 in over half of the countries in our sample. Price pressures still seem to be easing, albeit at a slower pace than last year, supporting our view that the EM monetary easing cycle will broaden out this year.
