The Caixin manufacturing PMI edged up in November but remained weak. Taken together with the official survey published yesterday, they suggest that downward pressure on industrial activity intensified last month. The economy is likely to remain weak in the coming months even if the current virus outbreak eases, due to headwinds from a deepening global downturn and ongoing property sector woes.
