Resilient activity points to aggressive RBA tightening

While business surveys in other advanced economies point to shrinking activity, the are holding up much better in Australia. The resilience of Australia's consumer reflects the strongest rise in labour income in a decade coupled with still high savings buffers. The upshot is that the Reserve Bank of Australia will have to work harder to rein inflationary pressures than most anticipate.
