With inflation under control and signs the political crisis is weighing on the already-weak economy, we expect the Bank of Korea to cut interest rates by a further 25bps at its meeting on Thursday.
Indonesia’s free meal programme, which aims to provide one free meal a day to 83m people (composed of school children and pregnant women) by 2029 got underway this week. The scheme is aimed at countering high levels of child malnutrition and should help boost economic development. But the costs of the scheme will need monitoring carefully.
