December inflation data out of Nigeria, at 21.3% y/y, came in below expectations, and provided a first sign that inflation passed its peak. Policymakers are likely to latch onto the fall in inflation and keep interest rates on hold at 16.50% next week, rather than deliver a final hike as we previously expected.
