The rebound in US export growth late last year can be linked directly to strengthening demand in both China and the euro-zone. Given that growth in China is now slowing and that the dollar is strengthening against the euro, US exports are unlikely to continue rising at double-digit rates for long. Nonetheless, the global economy will provide a small helping hand to America’s economic recovery.
