The markets are obsessing about whether the Fed will begin to reduce its monthly asset purchases at the upcoming two-day FOMC meeting, which concludes next Wednesday (18th September). All things considered, we expect the Fed to announce a modest taper of between $10bn to $15bn from the current pace of $85bn per month, but this is far from a certainty.
