The housing market slowdown has finally caught up with housebuilders – with both transactions and house prices in the newbuild sector feeling the pinch. As a result, we expect the current stagnation in housing starts last for the remainder of 2018. What’s more, without a renewed surge in market-wide transactions, or a fresh boost to newbuild demand, housing starts may even struggle to grow beyond that.
