Should we be worried about inflation expectations?

The anchoring of inflation expectations is seen as one of the great successes of the current inflation targeting regime and is enabling the MPC to take a more flexible approach to meeting the target. But there are signs that the anchor is starting to slip. Although this development is unhelpful, we are not too worried yet and doubt that it will have major consequences for the outlook for inflation.
