MPC on hold until November, but probably not yet done

Having only extended its quantitative easing programme last month, the Monetary Policy Committee was always likely to sit on its hands today. But with the economic outlook still highly uncertain and few signs that its previous asset purchases are having much effect, we doubt that its work is complete.
