Will Chavez get stuck in the MUD?

The opposition coalition in Venezuela (MUD) has selected Henrique Capriles Radonski to face Hugo Chavez in October’s presidential election. While the outcome of the vote is too close to call at this stage, it is clear that the onset of gradual economic reforms now could avoid the need for a much more drastic and painful adjustment further ahead.
