Mexican energy reform sets scene for stronger growth

The landmark reform to open up the Mexican oil industry to private sector investment should alleviate concerns that the government’s ambitious reform programme has stalled before it has got off the ground. Moreover, it should support the outperformance of the economy over the coming years. We continue to expect GDP growth to accelerate towards 4% during 2014-15.
