In contrast to much of Latin America, which has undergone a credit-fuelled boom in recent years, bank lending in Mexico has been more restrained. As a result, while many countries in the region are now likely to see credit growth slow, this is not necessarily true of Mexico. This in turn is another reason to expect the Mexican economy to outperform over the next couple of years.
