Colombian industry still has a competitiveness problem

The recent depreciation of the peso does not appear to have fully reversed the loss of competitiveness suffered by Colombian industry during the past decade. As a result, while the worst of the currency sell-off may now have passed, the peso looks set to weaken further over the next eighteen months. And in the meantime, we expect economic growth to remain lacklustre at 3.5-4.0% during 2013-15.
