Brazil fiddles around the fiscal edges

The freeze to some areas of government spending announced by Brazil’s government last night amounts to further fiddling around the edges at the expense of more fundamental fiscal reforms needed to help return the economy to health. Brazil is now paying the price for having bucked reform in the good years – with the economy weakening, the chances of radical fiscal reform are becoming increasingly slim.
