This week brought further evidence that Argentina’s government and bondholders remain far apart on a restructuring deal and, unless both sides thrash out something quickly, talks could get bogged down and take years to conclude. Meanwhile, data released this week suggested that Brazil and Mexico are set for double-digit contractions this quarter and, with lockdowns still in place, activity will remain depressed in the coming weeks.
