Having appreciated against the dollar over recent weeks, the yen initially strengthened further when news of the North Korean missile launch broke yesterday. Despite this, we continue to expect the yen to reverse course before the end of the year. But sizeable depreciation looks less likely now than we had previously thought and we have adjusted our forecasts for the exchange rate – and the Nikkei – accordingly.
