Fears of global food price inflation unjustified

Fears that the recent jump in some agricultural prices will lead to an upturn in world inflation are wide of the mark. Overall, agricultural prices have barely changed this year and are still much lower than they were a year ago. As such, they will contribute to a fall in inflation in the coming months.
