The short-term outlook for euro-zone industry is positive. Surveys suggest that output growth will rise in the coming months and, if sustained, the recent decline of the euro should provide a boost for exporters throughout next year. But with slowing consumer spending growth set to weigh on the larger services sector, industry is unlikely to prevent a slowdown in overall euro-zone GDP growth.
