The account of the ECB’s 7th March monetary policy meeting makes gloomy reading. It confirms that policymakers were worried about downside risks to their growth and inflation forecasts, even though they had only just been revised down, and that they were split over whether to provide even more policy support. All of which is consistent with the ECB offering more accommodation in the near future.
