What next for French and German capital values?

September’s MPC minutes suggest that, despite the arguably disappointing impact of forward guidance, the Committee is happy with its policy stance. A resumption of quantitative easing (QE) before the end of the year now looks less likely, although we still think that markets are wrong to expect an interest rate rise by early 2015.
