Fuel consumption by US motorists is set to grow strongly again this year, despite a shaky start, as robust employment growth encourages more people to drive and demand for less fuel-efficient trucks and SUVs remains high. Greater US gasoline demand should, in turn, help the oil market to rebalance by the end of this year or early next if global supply is relatively stable as we expect.
